About the lab

Better monitor decisions need a better evidence boundary.

Panel Pulse Lab is an independent publication operated by David King. We help US buyers choose monitors for work, gaming, travel, and mixed-use desks without collapsing every use case into one generic ranking.

Why this site exists

Monitor shopping is unusually vulnerable to false precision. A 1ms label does not explain overshoot. An HDR badge does not establish useful HDR performance. A USB-C socket does not guarantee laptop charging. And a glowing verdict based only on a listing page does not become more reliable because it is long.

We organize the decision around fit, documented specifications, current market context, independent measurements, and patterns in owner experience. We say what the evidence supports—and where a buyer should verify more.

Who is behind it

David previously managed aerospace manufacturing at Rolls-Royce, overseeing the build and assembly of complete jet-engine sections for Airbus and Boeing aircraft. That environment created a lasting preference for traceability, real conditions, and explicit failure modes.

How the site is funded

Panel Pulse Lab participates in the Amazon Associates Program. We may earn a commission when a reader follows an eligible link and makes a qualifying purchase. Affiliate relationships do not buy rankings, remove criticisms, or create hands-on testing that did not happen.
